Marta has over twenty-five years of experience in closely held businesses. For the first seven years of her career she was employed in the Business Management Services Department of Lowrimore, Warwick & Company (now RSM McGladrey) and rose to supervisor in that department overseeing eleven staff accountants. She has served as Controller for a multi-state broadcasting group as well as Chief Financial Officer for a multi-state chemical manufacturing entity and the controlling family interests in restaurants, real estate, and specialty chemicals.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1981 and successfully completed the Executive Program for Executive Management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill In 1991. Marta is licensed as a CPA in North Carolina. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). She also has five years of experience as a Lead Auditor for QMS ISO 9001:2000, the internationally recognized standard for quality management of product and processes.
Marta has experience in the industries of manufacturing, wholesale distribution, and retail. Within those industries she has executive management experience including analysis of acquisitions and divestitures, shareholder disputes and agreements, controlling and minority interest valuations for estate tax purposes, and cost/benefit analysis.
